
Lorraine Cavoto, MSN, FNP-C earned her bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) in 1986 from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, Texas. She worked for several years in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, caring for premature and ill newborns and providing care and support to both the infants and their parents. This included respiratory support, intravenous and nasogastric nutrition, developmental positioning, and educating parents on bonding, feeding, and developmental care. Infection control was also an important component of patient care.
